Join Cycle Alert this week:
As part of a local ‘fringe week’ of events, we’re joining Wanstead Fringe along with local cyclists and cycling fans together for a celebration of all things cycling this Wednesday 9th September
Wanstead Kinema will be showing Death on the Mountain, a documentary about cyclist Tom Simpson. The film will be introduced by local author Robert Dineen who has just published Kings of the Road, a celebration of British cycle racing. The event marks 50 years since Simpson’s world road race title, and his friend and team-mate Vin Denson will take part in a Q&A before the screening of the BBC documentary.
Vin will bring memorabilia from his career, including Simpson’s yellow jersey. The cycling film-maker Ray Pascoe will also be there, and there will be a chance to buy videos from him made with his exclusive footage from the sport’s archive.
Cycle Alert will of course be bringing free cycle tags for attendees. Check out Wanstead Fringe week for more information.
If you’re unable to make it on the night, you are still able to claim your free Cycle Alert tags through the website.
