Exchanging Places with Cemex: York Sport Village

The weekend saw Cycle Alert team up with leading supplier Cemex to offer an Exchanging Places event at the 2 year anniversary of York Sport Village, Heslington.  The aim of the day was to raise awareness of cycling in York so what better way to promote the cycle safety message than with Exchanging Places, offering people the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat to experience an HGV driver’s point-of-view (a particular favourite with our younger cyclists on the day!), as well as offering a wealth of cycle safety literature and freebies, including our own Cycle Alert tags.

Cemex and ourselves were also kindly joined by City of York Council, who were on-hand to offer advice on cycle training and York’s upcoming Festival of Cycling, more details of which can be found here.

Many thanks to York Sport Village who facilitated Exchanging Places on the day; it was a great opportunity to open dialogue with local cyclists across a diverse cross-section of people, from young children to Cat 2 racers. We can’t wait to try out the new velodrome!

Happy Birthday York Sport Village!  More pictures of the day can be found here on our Facebook page
