Education for All Road Users

In spite of significant improvements to road safety achieved in recent years, it is fair to say that there is still a lot of work to be done.  Our own vision is that of a Vision Zero, whereby no person will die at the hands of an HGV.  We believe that fatalities are not inevitable and are preventable and that no person should be allowed to die for the sake of getting from a to b via their chosen mode of travel.

Road safety measures, aimed at achieving the safety goal of preventing traffic crashes and reducing their severity, are traditionally referred as the three E’s: Enforcement measures, Engineering measures and Education measures.

In this section, we aim to look at all three, and what we at Cycle Alert can be doing to support them…

HGV Safer Urban Driving

With the ever increasing number of vulnerable road users (VRUs) including cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians, it is essential that drivers understand and work to reduce the risks of driving in today’s urban environments.
